As a critical part of the SI team, you will be uniquely positioned to work in collaboration with key stakeholders across JPMAM in delivering our global strategic initiatives on sustainability-related policy and regulatory implementation. You will consult and interpret new and existing regulations and then lead on the design and development of robust policies and frameworks that support the implementation and adherence to these regulations. Through the various stages of regulatory implementation, you will interface with Investment and Product groups, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Business Transformation, Technology, Data Office, Compliance and Operations and working together you will play a lead role in positioning the JPMAM SI business to ensure it complies and adheres to the global sustainability related regulatory landscape.
This is a demanding job that requires leadership, independent thinking, analytical skills, effective client and stakeholder management, purposeful collaboration and pragmatic problem-solving skills. You will possess a passion for creative and critical thinking about sustainability and climate change in financial markets, and a desire to be part of a fast-growing team.
You will be based in London and report to our Global Head of Sustainable Investing, and our Head of Sustainable Investing Integration.
Job responsibilities:
- Monitor the global regulatory landscape, industry developments and market practises that will impact our existing sustainable investing approach including but not limited to sustainable investing frameworks and portfolio management, product development and labelling, and disclosure requirements.
- Represent the SI team during the consultation phase of new policies, regulations and industry standards and collaborate with internal stakeholders to respond with a unified approach reflecting the strategic priorities of JPMAM.
- Lead on the translation and interpretation of new and existing global sustainability-related regulations, ensuring that JPMAM's sustainable investing frameworks and policies sufficiently adheres to all internal requirements, regulatory obligations, and external commitments, while maintaining competitive edge in the market.
- Where required, design, enhance and maintain approaches and underlying methodologies (including data analysis) that support our sustainable investing frameworks, policies and operating models.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of methodologies and data, includ ing , but not limited to, detailed screening of solution providers and vendors, assessing readiness, suitability to existing and new sustainable investing frameworks and policies.
- Support internal stakeholder groups throughout the implementation of regulatory changes, across sustainable investing frameworks and portfolio management, product development and labelling and disclosure requirements, in collaboration with internal stakeholder groups.
- Lead efforts on ensuring JPMAM meets its corporate-level reporting requirements globally, as efficiently as possible, including playing a key role in global and regional ESG and TCFD reports at the corporate level.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Relevant work experience, preferably in Asset & Wealth Management , including any specialties in Sustainable Investing, sustainability-related policy and regulation.
- Experience with global regulations, and ability to interpret regulatory expectations and lead implementation accordingly.
- Knowledge of current/pending sustainability-related regulations, including but not limited to EU SFDR and Taxonomy, UK SDR, sustainable product labelling and naming rules and ESG and climate-related corporate disclosure - requirements, and attentiveness to the evolving sustainability-related regulatory landscape.
- Demonstrate strong project and program management skills, with ability to multi-task at working on multiple initiatives.
- Exhibits excellent leadership skills, including an ability to: drive change, foster team curiosity, anticipate future trends, quickly adapt strategic thinking, proactively address concerns, bring diverse experiences together, create efficiencies, collaborate and partner effectively across levels and functions, proactively take initiatives and execute with high standards.
- Evidencing sufficient understanding and experience in sustainability-related data and vendor providers for investment management purposes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with ability to work across multiple stakeholders.
