Aspiring SEN Teacher - Teaching Assistant Great Dunmow - Graduate Roles - Aspiring SEN Teacher SEN Teaching Assistant role in a specialist provision for Autistic children aged 7-17, focusing on Autism and associated Complex Social Needs. The school prioritizes PSHE and Health and Social Care to prepare students for life beyond school. You will be working with vulnerable children who are still adjusting to school life after experiencing disruptions due to Covid-19. This reintegration process can be challenging and lengthy for many of these children. Each student will have different objectives and goals, and their behavior may be unpredictable, often influenced by external factors outside of school. You will witness the differences in how mental health and autism, for example, manifest differently in girls and boys-an overlooked aspect influenced by socio-economic and anthropological factors. Focused on mainstream EYFS, Primary, Secondary curriculums with an ABA focus, combined with key and functional skills Liking people, let alone children, is a significant aspect of this SEN Teaching Assistant role - if you understand why you are in this role Nurturing young people with the academic, independence, and life skills they need Encouraging and exploring creative, sports, technological, and culinary outlets for the students Outstanding support provided by your consultant throughout the registration, trial day preparation, and role experience Enhanced Child and Adult DBS required to work with vulnerable children and safeguarding Classes limited to a maximum of 6 students, involving a mix of 1:1 and small group work depending on the lesson and individual context Focus on developing key and personal skills to empower students in their personal and professional lives Grade 5 and above (A* to C) required in Maths and English All training and support provided by the school with an excellent training system Please be advised that this role requires strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
