Bands 7-8 - starting salary £13,992

Arts University Plymouth, the newest specialist arts university in the UK, is looking to appoint a Lecturer to support the delivery and teach on our BA (Hons) Fine Art course, on a part-time basis. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative, creative and passionate team, who all support a hugely successful course that promotes contemporary art practice in its broadest sense. We encourage an ambitious, self-directed and critically engaged approach to creative practice. You’ll help students explore interdisciplinary modes of practice and gain valuable experience of the creative sector creating lasting professional networks for your creative future.

About you:

  • You will be an artist with an established practice in the contemporary arts sector.

  • You will hold an MA Qualification in a relevant field

  • You will have previous teaching experience at a Higher Education (HE) level, having a commitment to professionalism and integrity in a HE environment

About the role:

  • Provide undergraduate teaching, feedback and assessment across all levels of the undergraduate degree

  • Contribute to the development, planning and delivery in the course area, ensuring the highest standards of learning and teaching in support of the best student experience

  • Work with the Course Leader for Fine Art to develop and deliver subject specific and interdisciplinary approaches to learning and teaching

  • Develop and undertake student recruitment and retention initiatives, under the direction of senior colleagues, where required
