BDS are currently recruiting for an experienced Arrears Officer to provide a housing management service to help the arears team with their income and recovery process.
Salary in Circa of £29,500 PAYE to £38,500 UMB per annum
Working 35 Hours a week Monday to Friday, 3 days from a local office hub and 2 days from home, with the requirement to attend other offices within the service from time to time, the other offices are based in Derby, Leicester, Birmingham, Greater Manchester and Liverpool
You will be responsible for the collection of rent arrears for the service, managing this where possible through early intervention.
You will be required to make contact with residents on a daily basis.
To prevent rent arrears from escalating in line with the rent collection policies and procedures in an effort to prevent serious debt and homelessness
To identify where tenants may be experiencing difficulty in meeting their commitment to pay their rent and be able to provide debt counselling and advice
To refer tenants to internal and external support agencies, where appropriate, to ensure that the tenancy can be sustained and the tenant is supported throughout.
Responsible for monitoring rent accounts on an ongoing basis, in order to identify cases that require further enforcement action, particularly in relation to tenants with court orders, or who have introductory tenancies.
You will need to have experience of Courts
