Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and motivated hardworking person to join our busy Quartermasters department.
The department provides G4 support to the formation and units within Trenchard Lines. You will have the opportunity to work in a wider team of both military and Civil Servants. We are looking for someone who has strong communication skills, is flexible, provides excellent customer service and puts the customer at the heart of everything they do. Who can also ensure accurate stores accounting procedures are carried out, provide a service both individually and as part of a team.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The successful candidate will be accountable to the Quartermaster (QM) through the Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant (RQMS) for the day-to-day management of the clothing store.
In this role you will be responsible for providing organic logistical support to Trenchard Lines. This includes but is not limited to the issue, receipt, manual handling, and movement of all materiel & equipment within Trenchard Lines, in accordance with any legislative requirements and local regulations.
You will be responsible for the general receipt & issue of the Clothing Account in line with relevant policy, along with all related administrative tasks. You will be required to complete any professional development courses pertinent to your role.
Person specification
- Supervise SZ1 within the department and run Materiel Accounts as directed by the RQMS/QM.
- Maintain stock levels in conjunction with clothing maintenance limits (CML) and Materiel Regulations.
- Ensure all vouchers from depots or other units are taken into account as directed by Material Regulations.
- Ensure all initial issues and free replacements, payment issues and withdrawn items are entered on the correct issue or receipt forms.
- Process all conditioning and disposal of clothing in line with current regulations.
- Conduct all soldiers and officers’ de-kits as per the current regulations.
- Carry out stock checks as and when required.
- Record all discrepancies, losses or damages and take corrective action where necessary. All incidents are to be reported to your line manager.
- Ensure the Clothing Store is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Assist the R&D Bay as required, including preparation of incoming and outgoing consignments.
- Any other tasks as directed by the line management commensurate with your grade and role within the QM department.
