This is an entry level opportunity into a great organisation! We’re a market leading cybersecurity company and our entry level NOC Engineer role will see the successful candidate trained on the tools and skills they need to be successful and develop a long-term career within the Company. You’ll “work while you train” to perform this role and develop skills for your future career. Previous employees have developed a successful career within the Operations organisation with many now working in SRE roles. We require you to have a basic level of technical fundamentals, but you can expect to learn:
- How to manage various internal and external stakeholders
- Develop a strong understanding of the complex Proofpoint infrastructure
- Act as first-line support for incident management
- How to troubleshoot problems
- How to understand the impact of an issue and the actions required to resolve/escalate
The Role
As a NOC Engineer, you will be part of an international team that monitors and maintains more than 14,000 servers, and 250 network devices located in more than 8 data centers worldwide. The Network Operations Engineers troubleshoot and resolve routine and complex network, hardware, and operating system issues in a timely manner while maintaining a 99.99% uptime rate for all systems. Given the global nature of our business, our Engineers work in a rotating shift pattern covering the hours of 6:00am - 7pm within a condensed work week.

Your day-to-day
- Monitor internal and production systems and escalating/paging L2 Engineers.
- Work incidents effectively and efficiently and engage Engineering, Support, QA, and other personnel in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Document problem descriptions and provide detailed problem diagnosis with accuracy and in compliance with established practices.
- Review and update the status of problems in trouble-ticketing system.
- Assist in maintaining Operations documentation including support guides, knowledge base articles, and procedures.
- Participate in the transfer of information from one shift to the next.
What you bring to the team
- This is an entry level role open to all backgrounds - you will be required to demonstrate technical knowledge acquired by - personal achievements, self-taught, academic qualifications, or industry experience such as Linux, networking, operating systems, scripting and automation
- A proven passion for learning with a desire to work in the technical industry
- Strong communication skills and organisational skills
- Excellent time management will prepare you for the varied workloads
