Job description
Location : Stourton, Oakthorpe, Taw Valley, Aylesbury & Lockerbie
In your two years as an Apprentice Dairy Technologist, you will become an expert in all things dairy and food manufacturing. You will learn what it takes to deliver high quality, tasty products to some of the nation’s favourite retailers, in a fast moving industry.
At the end of the two years, you will graduate with a level 5 Foundation Degree in Dairy Technology from The University of Chester, via a mix of practical and classroom based learning. You will also gain a Level 3 award in Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP along with a breadth of experience across all core elements of food manufacturing.
The best bit? You will earn as you learn! Your salary will increase year on year as you progress and develop.
So what will you learn about in your time as an Apprentice Dairy Technologist?
Good manufacturing is a marriage of technology, efficiency, quality, innovation, safety, and commerciality. At our sites we balance all of these factors to ensure that our farmer- owners are rewarded for the work they do. So that the nation get Cravendale milk in their tea each morning, Skyr yoghurt in their breakfast bowl, and Anchor butter on their toast.
As an Apprentice Dairy Technologist, you will learn how to balance these priorities in different environments. You will learn how to work fast in Production, how to enhance quality in the Lab, how to optimise technology in Process, how to innovate in Engineering, and how to keep your colleagues safe in Health & Safety. You will gain a commercial mindset, and an understanding of how important our customer relationships are to us. You will support our continual growth, through everything that you do.
At the end of your apprenticeship, it will be up to you to choose which rotation you enjoyed the most, and to decide which team you see a future in. Arla Foods is your oyster.
