The Role

We have a vacancy for a new Area Sales Manager to join our Agricultural Sales Department at our Newark depot.

Covering a sales area from our flagship Newark Depot you will be responsible for managing the customer base with the sales of John Deere, Kramer and Kuhn machinery as our leading franchises.

Using the CRM you will prospect, qualify and quote customers alongside demonstrations and installs as required. Technology is a big part of our sales process so a keen interest in the latest advances in precision farming means we sell more than just metal. You will be required to travel around the area visiting new and existing customers whilst maintaining accounts on CRM via your Ipad and laptop. Full product training will continue to keep you up to date making sure we can offer our customers the right machine for job

​Main duties of the role will include, but are not limited to:​

  • Forecasting machinery sales for the Newark area
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets on focus products set by the sales director
  • Continuing existing business and increasing market share with competitive conversions
  • Attending latest product training

The Ideal Candidate:

The successful candidate will be a forward-thinking individual with knowledge of modern agricultural machinery, farming practices and Precision Ag technology. It is also essential that you have excellent IT skills so you can embrace and benefit from our new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. Candidate must be familiar with the Newark area.

Skills required

  • A full driving license is essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of Agricultural machinery is essential (ideally John Deere)
  • Previous experienced of working within a John Deere or other Agricultural/Groundcare machinery dealership is preferred
  • Previous Sales experience is essential
  • Familiarity with the geographical area in which you will be working
  • Very strong IT skills with the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new software and systems
  • Must have the ability to self-motivate and work individually, managing your own workload and also able to work as part of a team.
