An Area Sales Manager opportunity has arisen to join our team at HFD Bridgend covering the South West of England.
HFD Bridgend, incorporating both 3D Flooring Supplies and MCD Wales is a well-respected flooring distributer, covering Wales, Herford, Gloucester, Bristol, Bath and the South West of England.
Preferably with previous sales experience, however this is not essential as all training will be provided, we also encourage existing employees to apply.
With the role you will manage and area and a customer base who deal within the flooring sector covering both contract and domestic retailers and contractors. We will look to grow the area in terms of customer base and always look for new opportunities, new products and new accounts.
You will have all the tools to do your role: the broadest and best floor covering ranges, excellent transport coverage and great customer service.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing your area to deliver sales revenue targets.
- Build relationships with new and existing customers; advising and influencing them to grow flooring sales for our business
- Place and present sampling and displays to introduce customers to new products and ranges and drive incremental sales.
- Managing customer pricing quotations and terms to reflect the complexity of products, price points, volumes and credit terms.

Requirements:
We are looking for a sales professional to be part of our team of 8 ASM’s who shares our vision in the flooring sector; its products and trends. We strive to be helpful and reliable to our customers and have a “can do” attitude in all aspects of the role.
It’s a pretty large geography – so you’ll be organised, structured and conscientious in how you approach your territory and journey planning, reporting and follow-up activity.
Being out on the road means you’ll need to be self-reliant and self-motivated, but we’d like you to be a great team player too! We have a strong team ethos and encourage all colleagues to work together to provide the best experience for our customers.
In particular you’ll bring:
- Sales success – in a retail, wholesale or other customer-facing role.
- An impressive track record of driving sales via a consultative-selling approach.
- You’ll ideally have some experience in a floor coverings, soft furnishings, DIY or home-related sector – or an interest you’d like to develop.
- Strong organisation skills and experience of working with CRM or similar systems.
- A strong work ethic and a passion for exploring new opportunities to build business with your customers.
- A full, clean Driving Licence.
