Your role

Are you interested in Developing Data Products within Data Mesh principles? Do you want to use technology to help the global investment bank to meet data requirements across 20 jurisdictions?

in this role, you will be working as a Solutions Engineer Architect in a cross-department Centre of Excellence agile team delivering continuous architecture for our applications and services to the Markets Regulation Business Stream. You will be making an impact on our engineering approaches, providing vision, roadmaps, affecting our engineering culture and driving best practices in the architecture domain.

You will.

  • drive our Azure Cloud adoption whilst contributing to the Investment Bank (IB) IT Cloud strategy
  • partner with our Product team(s) to create evolutionary, resilient technical solution architecture that is compliant with the IB architecture principles and advance the firms digital principles
  • innovate in our Data Engineering strategy with focus on building re-usable components/patterns in line with our Data Mesh strategy
  • collaborate with CTO and architecture representatives to drive engineering excellence aligned with UBS Digital Principles
  • reduce technical debt and exposure to legacy architecture risk, directly addressing Production stability of existing applications
  • influence, create reasoned and evidenced guidance, building trusted relationships in the Stream
  • be a leader; hands-on, doing PoCs to validate proposed solutions
  • communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your team

We are Markets Regulation, a Technology Stream in the Investment Bank within the Chief Digital Information Office (CDIO). Our purpose is to transform the way UBS does business, by simplifying and improving the products and platforms relied on by our Regulatory and Data Clients. You will be joining the Markets Regulation architecture Centre of Excellence that operates across all our digital solutions delivering data, trade, and transaction reporting services. Continuously aligning solutions to meet the demands of our Business, adopting modern Technology, and retiring legacy will be your focus.

Your expertise

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related engineering field
  • Ideally, 15+ years of software engineering experience
  • experience with cloud platforms. Can be Azure (preferred), GCP, or AWS
  • Experience with multiple languages including Java, Python or C#
  • hands-on experience with professional software engineering best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations
  • experience working with data structures and building microservices and highly performant APIs (GraphQL / RESTful)
  • worked with modern tech; data streaming, real-time processing, AI/ML, data and analytics, compute (Serverless/ K8S)
  • deep understandings of Object-Oriented designing and programming
  • ability to dive into details, hands on technologist with strong core computer science fundamentals
  • extensive experience in relational and NoSQL databases, designing and implementing scalable distributed solutions
  • engineering capability building data pipelines using Cloud native technologies for large scale Enterprise requirements
  • experience in a modern iterative software development methodology (SCRUM, XP, SAFe )
  • experience with globally distributed teams and business partners
  • experience in building and maintaining applications that are mission critical for customers
  • excellent communication skills, ardent team player, and the ability to work cross functionally
