We’re proud to be an Arboriculture Association Approved Contractor, the only accreditation scheme for tree surgeons in the UK. We are regularly audited by the Association, so our customers can be totally reassured that they are receiving consistently high-quality and compliant service.
We are now looking for an Arboriculture Operations Manager (Doncaster) to oversee the delivery of practical Arboricultural operations throughout the business. To price new work and deliver outstanding service to new and existing client base. To maintain excellent health and safety practices throughout your teams.
What you'll be doing.....
To carry out practical Arboricultural operations to the standards of the Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor Scheme
To provide onsite guidance and assistance to Arboricultural teams throughout the operating area of the business
To carry out on-site safety auditing against ArbAC scheme standards and carry out post-works quality audits to ensure compliance with quotations submitted and BS3998:2010
Ensuring site surveys are programmed and completed by liaising with the Arboriculture Surveyor.
To oversee the development of Arboricultural operatives attending staff reviews as required
To schedule and complete thorough examination of Arboricultural climbing and rigging equipment to the requirements of LOLER 1998 (and any subsequent revisions)
To prepare and oversee the delivery of the CGM trainee arborist scheme
To ensure daily checks on equipment, vehicles and plant are completed fully and accurately by operational staff liaising with the workshop as required to ensure regular servicing or equipment and plant
To ensure that 7day inspections of Arboricultural climbing and rigging equipment and MEWPs are completed and returned to the Arboriculture Director
Assist in the checking and issuing of PPE, uniform and replacement parts/chains/equipment
Ensuring the correct disposal of Arboricultural arisings at the various locations of the business
Carry out regular audits of vehicle contents ensuring presence and suitability of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, spills kits and sharps boxes. Ensuring that all issued equipment allocated to each operational vehicle is present and fit for purpose
Ensuring that defective equipment is marked and removed from service and allocated for repair promptly
Ensuring knowledge of current industry best practice and all associated knowledge is maintained at an acceptable level by attendance at CPD events and training
Programme operational works through liaison with clients and the Arboriculture Administrator
Ensuring quotation deadlines are achieved through prompt attendance to site visit requests
Skills you need....
Understanding of modern Arboricultural practice and theory
Proficient in all aspects of practical arboriculture
Strong communicator with clients, staff, and management
Competent IT skills
Knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to arboriculture
Ability to price works for machinery, labour, and waste requirements
Hold relevant NPTC training certificates relating to Arboricultural activities
Be qualified and competent to complete basic tree survey and reports
Understanding of maintenance and operational requirements for relevant vehicles, plant, and machinery
