Responsibilities
The Approved Electrician role, within the Clydeport Engineering Department, will work within a team to carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance efficiently, effectively and in a safe manner. Whilst predominantly based at KGV Docks, you will be required to provide engineering cover to the Clydeport cluster as and when required. This role will be working on an annualised hours contract.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Working with the Engineering Manager and Team Leader to deliver; On-time delivery, Continuous Flow, Customer Satisfaction, Zero defects, Compliance of all statutory electrical safety checks and tests
- Carry out hands-on maintenance work on mechanical and electrical plant, machinery and equipment
- Work towards appointed authorised person for HV and LV systems as per the Peel Ports Electrical Safety Management System
- Complete work and input data on the SAP (EAM) computerised maintenance management system
- Report parts and material defects to the Engineering Team Leader/Manager without delay
- Suggest tactical decisions to the Engineering Team Leader/Manager to stay on schedule
- Demonstrate commitment to multi-skilled activity where appropriate
Skills and Experience
- Experience of maintaining heavy plant and machinery in a heavy industrial environment
- Must be willing to multi-skill in electrical and mechanical engineering
- Experience working with an electrical safety framework as an authorised person
- Excellent fault finding skills and the ability to use diagnostic equipment
- Willing and able to work at heights
- Capable of working effectively under pressure in a critical busy environment
- Willing and able to travel to other sites within the cluster to provide cover when needed
- Demonstrate commitment to maintaining Peel Ports Health and Safety standards
