Thurrock Council are looking for a Level 3 Apprentice to join our Robotic Process Automation Team.
This apprenticeship would suit anyone looking for a career in Robotic Process Automation [RPA], whether you’re a school leaver or looking for a career change.
The apprentice position involves learning the skills and gaining relevant experience to achieve a Level 3 qualification. You’ll be provided with a wide variety of work experience opportunities to demonstrate proficiency in RPA.
The Thurrock Council RPA Team sits within the Applications function of the ICT Department. The RPA Team look to automate manual tasks across the organisation allowing our colleagues to focus more on high value efforts to maximise the value benefits for our Residents, Businesses and Partners.
Main responsibilities:
- To support the RPA Team and business partners in ensuring process and object controls are adhered to and work closely with Business Partners to ensure process efficiency.
- To promote standards and consistency in how RPA processes/objects are built within the council and are maintained.
- To support effective risk management, including checking active processes and maintaining successful processed items and handling exceptions.
- To record, analyse and disseminate lessons learned from post RPA processes created.
- To maintain processes and objects within Blue Prism by ensuring exception rate is above 80/20 rule.
- To create RPA documents and reports from information provided, using standard formats and templates.
- To provide guidance and share best practice to teams around the council on project methodologies, templates and processes.
- To communicate effectively with internal and external customers of the ICT service, resolving problems within the scope of the role.
- Maintain personal and team awareness of key directorate and corporate issues.
- Develop strong working relationships across the council promoting and championing ICT engagement with the wider business.
- To work effectively with colleagues as part of the team.
- Any other duties appropriate to this area of work consistent with the level of the post.

The Level 3 Apprenticeship requires you to achieve:
- Write, test, deploy and support automations
- Apply structured techniques to solve logical problems
- Use and Creation of Best Practice Documentation
Training will take place remotely via online methods, all necessary equipment will be provided.
Apprenticeship study will be undertaken within normal working hours. Time will be allocated to attend training and complete assignments, workbooks, online training etc. as required by the qualification.

Ages 18 to 20 - £6.45
Ages 21 to 24 - £8.20
Ages 25 and over - £8.72
