Description
Earn. Learn. Qualify.
Do you want to earn while you learn, with the chance of progression once you qualify? Do you want the opportunity to grow, develop and be the best version of yourself? Then why not build the foundations of your career with an Apprenticeship at Durham County Council, the largest council in the northeast.
Apprentice (Joiner)
Do you enjoy making things and have an eye for detail? This could be the apprenticeship for you!
Joiners are found in the maintenance and construction sector, and they work with building materials, most often wood and timber, to create and install building components. There is a growing demand for carpenters and joiners.
As an Apprentice Joiner, you will join Durham County Council’s highly skilled Building and Facilities Maintenance team, and you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and competencies to be able to assist in the provision of a building repairs and construction service.
Your day-to-day duties will include supporting the Construction, Repairs and Maintenance Managers, and wider team, with joinery installation and maintenance issues, as well as promoting and developing working practices and procedures to improve the Health and Safety culture. You will ensure compliance with standards, policies and procedures and promote the service to both existing and potential customers. We will support you as you study towards a Carpentry and Joinery Level 2, progressing onto the Level 3.
This apprenticeship is an excellent choice for those with an ambition to progress!
