Job description
Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates and in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols. The Apprentice Healthcare Assistant (HCA) will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care across Bevan including:
- Assisting with Phlebotomy
- Learning how to complete new patient health checks, annual health checks and NHS health checks including documenting medical, psychological and social problems and escalating concerns from new patient health checks to registered nursing/medical colleagues as appropriate
- Act as a chaperone when required
- Measuring & recording height, weight and BMI, temperature, blood glucose and blood pressure
- Assist with HBPM/ABPM fitting
- Learn how to process and manage of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses
- Surgery equipment re-stocking and stock rotation
- Daily stock checking and re-stocking of consulting rooms
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions
The Apprentice HCA will attend collage one day per week in order to develop their skills outside the workplace and gain their qualification

Salary: £21,410.00-£24,560.00 per year
