BRE are working with BPP as our apprenticeship Provider to recruit an Apprentice Finance Assistant to join us immediately!
We're looking for a proactive and self-motivated Apprentice to join our busy Finance team here at BRE in this exciting and varied opportunity covering many areas of our Finance function. The majority of the work can be conducted on a home-based basis but there will be opportunities to work in our refurbished office in Watford on occasion too.
As an Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the AAT Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification.
The apprenticeship studies will be completed at a BPP centre or via the Online Classroom platform, in addition to on the job learning at BRE.

The value this role will add:
The role will involve working in various posts across the finance team to get a broad experience of the finance function at BRE. The list below is a summary of the areas that may be included in the work of the role. This list is indicative of the roles available, but it may vary during the course of the apprenticeship:
- Processing cash and reconciling to the bank accounts.
- Processing sales invoices.
- Supporting the collection of cash including collecting addition information such as customer purchase order numbers.
- Processing sales invoices.
- Processing purchase invoices and reconciling supplier statements to check the amounts due to suppliers are correct.
- Processing of business expenses and liaising with members of staff to validate the claims and gather additional information as required.
- Checking the expenses are aligned with policy and HMRC requirements.
- Undertaking ad hoc analysis of costs and revenue
- Support of the external audit process
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Any other duties as requested.
As the confidence and capability of the apprentice improve with their studies and practical experiences, other tasks may be added to this role for further development.
This is a permanent role with an opportunity for career progression following the successful completion of the 3 year apprenticeship programme.
What experience and skills does the role need?
- 5 GCSE's Grades 4 to 9 including English and at least a 7 in Maths
- 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
- Good level of understanding of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive
- Self-motivated
- Accuracy/ Attention to detail
- Positive approach
- Problem-solving skills

Other information:
- The Apprenticeship programme runs for 18-21 months
- Once completed, you could progress to BPP's Professional Accounting/Taxation Technician Level 4 Apprenticeship or the Accountancy/Taxation Professional Level 7 Apprenticeship – the path to becoming a fully qualified accountant.
