Apprentice Engineer
We have a brand new, exciting opportunity for an Engineering Apprentice to join the Harrods team! This is a very unique offering – you will be trained by the best in class – and you will finish the 3-year course with a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance.
About the Role
Following a structured programme, alongside our training provider Train’d Up, you will complete all units and achieve the following qualifications: Level 2 NVQ focused units, Level 3 NVQ Diploma Engineering Maintenance & Level 3 NVQ Sub Diploma. The cost of the course is covered by the company.
You will shadow key individuals and teams within the engineering and facilities department. This will enable you to get the practical skills required to achieve accreditation.
The training rota will include:
- Engine Room: HV & LV Distribution – Bulk Utilities – Control Room
- Electrical: LV distribution – Lighting – Local power
- HVAC/BMS: Air Conditioning – Chillers – Heating – Building Management Systems
- Water Services: Drainage – Plumbing
- Building Maintenance: Fabric Maintenance – General Builders Repairs
The selection process will consist of an assessment day at our Knightsbridge store, where you will get the opportunity to meet the team and demonstrate your capabilities and desire to work within the engineering and facilities sector.
About You
You are a dedicated self-starter, able to ensure all training and assessments are completed on time, and you will have a strong customer service/communication focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You are adaptable to the differing environments and have excellent time management skills.
You will have good PC literacy and be able to show a clear passion for engineering, facilities and health & safety management, ideally with some knowledge of the industry, whether that be from a personal or professional viewpoint.
