Job description
Clinical Engineering are looking for 4 enthusiastic apprentices to work in the department to train to manage medical devices through their complete life cycle within the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STH) and its community settings. The apprenticeship will consist of attending a part time distancing learning level 6 (degree) Apprenticeship course over a three-year period with an End Point Assessment (EPA) after completion of the academic course. There are occasions when attendance at the university will be necessary.
20% of the working week will be given to the apprentices to complete the university course, this is a combination of attending online lectures and writing up assignments, with on-the-job training taking place over the remaining 80% of the working week.
Employment will depend on gaining the degree and will commencing on completion of the end point assessment. Apprentices will be expected to work from any of the STH sites to gain knowledge of different medical devices.
Although this is a 42 month contract the apprentices will be offered permanent contracts on an AfC band 5 on successful completion of the training.
