SEN Learning Support Assistant
£80 - £90 PAYE

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will be supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including but not limited to Autism, Social and Emotional Mental Health, Severe and Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)

What do I need as a SEN Learning Support Assistant?

What will I be doing as a SEN Learning Support Assistant?
- Supporting children with Autism/ASC, complex needs and Severe to Profound Multiple Learning Difficulties (SLD/PMLD)
- Assisting the class teacher with planning, preparing and delivering learning activities, as well as monitoring and assessing children’s achievement and progress
- Actively involved in a wide range of activities, promoting the physical, cognitive, cultural, social and emotional well-being of the pupils
- Actively interacting with children through play-based and sensory-related activities
- Some of our students are non-verbal and have a wide range of learning difficulties. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users.
- Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs is ideal
- Personal Care (feeding and toileting) and hydrotherapy are required as this is a part of the job
