Responsibilities
Serves as the administrator for mission-unique software applications utilized in Facilities, primarily AiM. This includes setting up new users and permissions, troubleshooting software issues, and ensuring application functionality and optimization.
Designs, troubleshoots, and manages automated interfaces and processes associated with mission-unique software applications utilized by Facilities. Knowledge of JavaScript and Pentaho is preferred for these interfaces. Authors complex SQL statements utilizing TOAD and creates reports in BIRT and other tools to extract data from applications for use by Facilities and other University departments.
Liaison between external software developers and Facilities while communicating the needs of Facilities and FSU with those providing the software. Oversees and participates in troubleshooting or deploying software with external sources.
Develops and implements timelines for software upgrades and deployment.
Develops and documents processes and procedures associated with application management.
Assists with proposing, developing, and implementing integration between software and business processes.
Communicates with the Facilities IT Manager to ensure strategic goals of Facilities and IT are supported regarding application implementation and support. Oversees and supervises Facilities Application Support staff. Performs duties in compliance with ITS policies, guidelines, and processes on support requests, work orders, project management, change management, and incident management.
Appropriately utilizes associated tools following ITS standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to six years.)
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
Ability to maintain and improve personal and team effectiveness and foster change and creativity.
Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
Ability to utilize problem-solving and technical skills.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology
Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures (SQL, Javascript)?
