Who we are looking for

A Service, Asset & Configuration Management Engineer who will maintain product discovery and lifecycle management in our environment, stored within the CMDB and other toolsets.

As a Service, Asset & Configuration Management Engineer you will audit and maintain the data stored within the CMDB, utilising various asset management toolsets, with the focus being on our internally developed software products.

You will need to ensure that all data is accurate and up to date, recorded correctly and that the required processes are followed for changes to this dataset. You will ensure all Asset Management processes, policies & lifecycles are followed and the system is configured optimally, to deal with the required configuration management needs. You will review the systems and processes and polices where required, to ensure we are meeting our company and compliance needs.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Experience with application and product modelling in an enterprise environment.
Experience and understanding of Asset Management technology and scanning tools preferably BMC Remedy & BMC ADDM/Discovery, Configuration Management tooling, databases and querying (MS SQL).
Ability to analyse complex datasets from multiple sources and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail (Excel, SQL, etc.) and present this data back and/or use this to calculate compliance/configuration positions.
Experience working within a configuration/service environment with varied complex applications and database architectures, along with a good understanding of how these hang together, including sub components that may make up a single package.
Strong communication, presentation and analytical skills with the ability to playback or query IT Management and non-technical stakeholders.
Team player with smart thinking, a can do attitude, ability to work alone with minimal supervision
A self-starter who takes personal responsibility for deliverables who is able to work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects with independent deadlines and deliverables.
Strong process management, document and control skills, with very strong attention to detail.
Good understanding of the lifecycle of assets.
ITIL v3 foundation, preferably qualified with relevance to Configuration Management.

Main Responsibilities

Creating and maintaining the application software models and supporting processes to ensure the location of where our products reside and running stance remains accurate.
Maintaining application products as CIs with the required cradle to grave processes surrounding product lifecycle management and any associated configuration data.
Working with the development team to help understand how to discover products.
Maintaining the accuracy of the data quality and processes surrounding the CMDB for asset and configuration management.
Updating and maintaining the CMS, ensuring that data quality and accuracy is maintained to the highest standards. Ensuring that our regular baseline audits are carried out to ensure that we are meeting our internal, company and compliance objectives.
Helping to assist the business and internal teams with the configuration management of the CI’s. Ensuring running configurations, service placement delivery models and principles are recorded and maintained in the CMS and adhered to especially for ITSC mapping, regulatory classifications and licensing models.
Verifying and auditing of the CMS and performing service deep dives in line with product, service, asset and configuration reconciliation
Working with various stakeholders across the department to maintain the teams BAU and KPI work streams, along with asset management requests, whilst identifying problem areas up/down stream that have the ability to impact the team and working to improve/resolve these.
