App UX/UI Designer
We seek an experienced App UX/UI Designer to join our growing Digital Design team at an exciting time with our new soon-to-launch Harrods app that will be Harrods’ flagship digital experience.
About the Role
The mission of the UX team at Harrods is to understand and champion the needs of the user and to be the voice of our user to the wider business. We work closely with teams from across the business to understand their to ensure we balance their needs with those of our users. We do this by combining insights, research and best practice guidelines to design delightful, accessible experiences.
Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business, you will be responsible for developing user-centred designs that delight out users and meet business goals based on user research and feedback. You will be creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups for various platforms, including iOS and Android.
You will collaborate with product owners, developers, content, and other designers to define user interface requirements and ensure consistency across platforms. You will create new icons and motion, animation and transitions guidelines to elevate digital experiences. You will effectively communicate insights, concepts and rationales both verbally and visually to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You will be an effective communicator who can both simplify the complex and concisely explain rationale and design decisions, but also confidently communicate with internal and external stakeholders. You will have a passion for accessibility and an understanding of the value of building accessible mobile-apps and the desire to deliver this through the designs. You will have exceptional customer focus, being able to understand, empathise and champion the needs of our users.
You will also:
- Be proficient in Figma, AfterEffects and other UI design tools.
- Be an efficient problem solver with the ability to tackle complex requirements and deliver creative solutions.
- Understand the value of aligning with existing web patterns and style guide for consistency.
- Have knowledge of mobile design principles and guidelines for both iOS and Androids.
- Knowledge of Wireframing, Prototyping, Visual Design, Mobile App Design, Interaction Design, Usability Testing and User-centred Design.
