Cover Keeper – Animal Management
Full Time, Fixed Term (37 hours per week rota)

Salary: SP 15 - 17 | £20,456 - £21,657
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Newcastle.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a diverse Animal Keeper to join our Animal Management Department here at our York campus. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is capable of working with others and is responsible, passionate and knowledgeable about the overall animal management sector and has an enthusiastic approach to animal husbandry and welfare.
Reporting to the Wildlife Park and Kennel and Companion Manager. Responsibilities include the day to day care and management of the animal sections, general cleaning, feeding, maintenance and record keeping of the animal species. This role also includes supervising students on work placement. This role focuses predominantly on the Dog School department but also will provide cover for the Wildlife Park and Companion Welfare Department intermittently.

Applicants should be educated to at least a level 3 in an animal related subject and be able to show practical experience working with animals.
