Labcorp Drug Development is looking for an Animal Husbandry Technician to join our growing team in Eye, Suffolk.

Labcorp Drug Development has helped pharmaceutical and biotech companies develop one-third of all prescription medicines in the market today. Chances are, you or someone you know has benefitted from a medicine or medical device that Labcorp Drug Development helped develop.

As an Animal Husbandry Technician, your main responsibilities will be:

• Handling animals and performing husbandry tasks as required – providing food/water, enrichment and exercise
• Handling animals during licenced procedures
• Recording data
• Operating cage washing machinery / pressure washers / washing machines and maintaining cage wash areas to the required standard.
• Portering goods as required.
• Maintaining the flow of items into and out of the facility
• Removing waste from empty cages or pens
• Undertake routine cleaning activities
• Laundering uniforms
• Preparing equipment and materials for study use.

There will be weekend working requirements. When rostered to work one or both days at the weekend you will receive additional payments (included in the above) and an equal number of days off in the following week. There will be an opportunity to work additional overtime during the week and weekends that are not part of your scheduled week.

Experience

• Literacy and Numeracy skills of a good standard
• The ability to learn and have empathy with the animals; as well as the capability to develop the requisite skills
• Previous experience working with animals is beneficial but not necessary
