Join our team as a Finance/Accounts Assistant and help us maintain financial records for the Department of Public Health & Primary Care in Cambridge.
We're looking for a talented Finance/Accounts Assistant to join our team and make a valuable contribution to the smooth operation of the Department of Public Health & Primary Care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Raise and approve purchase orders, process invoices, and reconcile monthly statements from suppliers
- Provide accounts payable and accounts receivable administration
- Add new suppliers to the University financial system and process expense claims
- Undertake the recharge processing for department groups for their Clinical School Computing Service (CSCS), printing and postage charges.
- Approval of all Departmental staff expense claims
- Prepare weekly payment spreadsheets to Payroll and process paying to individuals under the University Payment System.
- Act as the first point of contact for accounting enquiries
- Respond to enquiries from across our diverse department, providing advice and guidance to staff on financial processes
We are looking for someone who is:
- Qualified to GCSE/NVQ level 3 or has the relevant practical experience
- Competent in using standard IT packages including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Has previous accounts experience and good customer service skills are essential
- Has AAT or other accountancy or bookkeeping qualifications are desirable but not essential

Funding is available for 2 years, in the first instance from the commencement of the post.
The post is full time (36.5 hours) per week, Monday to Friday, with hybrid working considered. We also welcome applications for part time working of no less than 29 hours per week.
