AMBULANCE RESPONSE ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND THEIR TEAM OF NON EMERGENCY PATIENT TRANSPORT STAFF. THIS POST IS A REWARDING AND TRUSTED POSITION WITHIN THE AMBULANCE SECTOR, DEALING WITH PATIENTS WHO MAY BE SICK, ELDERLY OR HAVE OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRANSPORT THEM TO AND FROM HOSPITAL.

Immediate starts available. Salary starting at £10.50ph

DUE TO INSURANCE APPLICANTS MUST BE ABOVE 21 YEARS OF AGE AND HAVE HELD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE FOR A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS. (THIS ROLE REQUIRES LESS THAN 6 POINTS ON DRIVING LICENSE)

THIS ROLE CAN BE PHYSICALLY DEMANDING AND YOU WILL SPEND A LARGE AMOUNT OF TIME ON THE ROAD COVERING AN ALLOCATED PATCH.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a varied role and some level of flexibility in supporting other roles will be expected. General responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring code of conduct is maintained at all times
  • Driving to a high standard
  • Administering first aid
  • Ensuring paperwork is filed correctly
  • Working as a team and individually
  • Carrying out vehicle checks in accordance to policy
  • Ensuring ambulance is cleaned in accordance with Infection Control Policy
  • Helping patients out of their home into the ambulance (may require lifting)
  • Using radio and/or phone to keep in touch with Control Room

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will need to be self-driven and have good customer services. Able to work under own discretion, towards tight deadlines. A willingness to support across other roles is essential.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS
  • MUST HOLD A FULL VALID UK MANUAL LICENCE WITH NO MORE THAN 6 PENALTY POINTS
  • FIRST AID SKILLS
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE
  • ABLE TO MANAGE OWN TIME
  • EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS

This role is subjected to two satisfactory references, and clean Enhanced DBS Clearance

This role is subjected to Driving & Lifting Assessment

This role will include working with chemicals. Work Overalls/ Uniform will be provided

This role runs on a shift rota which will include some weekends, evenings and bank holidays
