The role
ALSPAC is a large birth cohort study that has collected comprehensive and detailed information on study children and their parents from pregnancy through to young adulthood. ALSPAC has collected data from medical records, linkage to other databases, questionnaires measures made at hands-on assessment clinics and analyses of biological samples collected over the years. In this role, you will be collecting data from the @30 clinic. This will be ALSPAC’s biggest data collection yet and will involve collecting data from all cohorts; G0, G1 and G2 (the 3 generations within the ALSPAC cohort). These visits will be conducted both face to face in clinic and online.
You will be working within a dynamic team of fieldworkers, clinic manager and clinic coordinators.

What will you be doing?
You will be required to undertake training in clinical data collection methods, in order to complete practical assessments (including questionnaires, anthropometric measures, assessment of blood pressure, taking a blood sample and completion of a DXA scans) on study participants of all ages (newborn to 70 years old), and all administrative duties associated with these assessments including entering results on to a computer-based data collection system. This will be done remotely via Microsoft teams or in a clinic setting at the ALSPAC headquarters in Oakfield House.

Experience of clinical data collection will be valuable, as the role will involve safeguarding the wellbeing of participants, and ensuring adherence to research governance and Good Clinical Practice standards. In addition, the candidate should be able to work remotely via Microsoft Teams and have excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages.

Salary: £24,948 - £27,929 per annum (pro rata)
School/Unit: Bristol Medical School
Shift pattern: 32h per week (4 x 8 hour Shifts , Mon-Sat, occasional Sundays and late evenings)
