About the role:
The Training Delivery Team (Technical Ground Instructors Management) determines the activity of our TGIs (Technical Ground Instructors) both employed and Consultants of L3Harris. The Airline Ground School Manager supports the day-to-day management of a dedicated team of TGIs, overseas the rostering of the department. The number of cadets and airlines that are coming through our doors has grown and will continue to do so, the Airline Ground School Manager works collaboratively to determine and forecast resourcing needs. We are very passionate about recruiting and onboarding new starters so that L3Harris values are upheld from day one. The Airline Ground School Manager ensures all standardisation of existing and new TGIs, updating and rewriting existing and new courseware and delivering Ground School sessions. They will assist with keeping a fully integrated, operational management system up to date to ensure TGIs remain compliant and able to perform their duties legally by monitoring expires and acting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Monitor and manage trainee competency and progress with timely reporting as required and in consultation with partner airlines, coordinate and manage further training where required.
- Provide an operational/training input from each fleet to the Company business plan and to make recommendations to the Head of Training regarding expenditure with respect to training resources and equipment.
- Coordinate, in the most cost-effective manner, the training courses under his or her management ensuring that they meet the requirements of the Authority under the ATO approval, the requirements of customers and the Company’s Compliance standards within the constraints of any applicable National, European or International legislation in force at the time.
- Assist the Head of Training, Airline Training (HoT) to set and maintain the standards for all Instructors under his or her management, and to establish and implement suitable standardisation policies to ensure the course delivery is to the highest quality.
- Ensure all Instructors adhere to orders, instructions and procedures contained in the relevant course manual.
Essential Skills:
- Previous management experience is preferred
- The successful applicant will possess Boeing737 or A320 TRI (SFI) / TRE (SFE), or demonstrable extensive experience of EASA type rating and/or MPL Ground Training.
