We are looking for 3 Aircraft Electrical Build Technicians to join our Build Team.

My Impact as a Aircraft Electrical Build Technician

We are looking for an experienced Aircraft Electrical Technician with high quality mechanical and/or avionic fitting skills and sound personal standard practices to assist in the build, commissioning and testing of electric or hybrid prototype aircraft and its sub-systems. You will be required to assist in the building, commissioning and deployment of test rigs as well as assisting in the successful completion of our flight test programme including possible temporary overseas deployments.

What success will look like for the Aircraft Build Technician

  • Carrying out the fitting of electrical mechanical and avionic components I.A.W. engineering drawings, build plans, digital mock-ups and instructions from Senior Technicians or Head of Department to highest quality standards to ensure airworthiness.
  • Carrying out the build, testing, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of sub-assemblies and full aircraft systems including low and high voltage electrical and mechanical systems as well as providing support for aircraft systems test and flight test activities.
  • Ensuring all appropriate documentation is completed and maintained (work cards, tech logs, tech library, ERP system entries… etc).
  • Maintaining a high standard of tool cleanliness and control throughout the workshop assembly areas, labs and machine rooms and maintaining exemplary FOD prevention methods throughout.
  • Assisting in the flight test programme in the UK and possibly overseas.
  • You may be required to work a shift system or additional hours for high load periods within the business.

We are looking for people that will have the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Will have completed a recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship in a commercial or military environment or similar qualification in aircraft systems.
  • Have a good working knowledge of High Voltage electrical systems, wiring harness build techniques including crimping and soldering (Electrical Technician)
  • Have good working knowledge of structural production techniques, repairs and composite materials (Mechanical Technician)
  • Should have very good attention to detail and can operate to challenging deadlines without compromising standards or quality.
  • Have a good working knowledge of aircraft documentation, maintenance manuals and engineering drawings.
  • Can demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities and always willing to lend a hand where needed throughout the business and across different teams.
  • Will apply previous experience, skills & knowledge to maintain Health, Safety and Environmental considerations and suggest improvements to procedures wherever possible.
  • Good working experience of IT systems including electronic work card systems and Microsoft packages
  • Should have good interpersonal communication skills, willing to engage with different disciplines, teams and individuals to carry out duties within our growing team.
  • Accredited aerospace engineering qualification.
  • Relevant commercial aircraft apprenticeship or military equivalent an advantage.
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in aircraft production (ideally as a electrical technician)
  • Full UK driving licence.

Our Ways of Working In the UK we have two offices and a Battery facility in Bristol, an office in London and a site in Kemble with well stocked free kitchen provisions including hot drinks, fruit and breakfasts every weekday. Our typical full time working week is 37.5 hours. We recognise the world of work is rapidly evolving and that 9-5 is no longer a fitting pattern for many.
