As part of the Investment Bank Regulatory & Cross-Product Technology Group, the Party Data system is central to the banks strategy of increasing the quality of reference data and the desire to operate a class leading perpetual Know-Your-Client process.

We are a global team of 125 engineers working together to re-engineer the Party Data system to enable efficient scaling, enhanced resilience, improved throughput and fewer manual touch points using Java and Kotlin micro services in conjunction with Kafka streaming and message delivery.

You will be an integral part of an agile software delivery team - focusing on meeting regulatory deadlines, continuous improvement of existing services and creating elegant solutions to upcoming business challenge. Your deliveries will contribute improvements to core libraries evolving the banks technology solutions.

Your key responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of high performance, scalable, robust and reliable reference data services
  • Prototyping creative solutions quickly by developing minimum viable products and working with others in crafting and implementing the technical vision
  • Steer continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software
  • Work closely with other talented developers to ensure code quality, appropriate testing and design to ensure excellent product quality
  • Promote the culture of freedom and responsibility within the delivery team

Your skills and experience

  • Knowledge of software engineering in Java, Spring, and relational databases
  • Understanding of clean code, object-oriented design, and Test-Driven Development
  • Background of agile development processes, commitment to continuous improvement and clean code best practice
  • Excellent methodical skills to define elegant solutions to complex problems
  • An understanding of Reference Data platforms & the criticality of data used to drive key bank processes
