Our client is a medium size successful chartered accountancy firm, with offices in Brighton and London. They now have an opportunity for an Accounts Team Leader to join the company and help provide a high level of service to a variety of clients.

This role would suit a confident individual, looking to develop their leadership and management skills. Reporting to the partners, the Accounts Team Leader will manage a portfolio of clients and will be support with the management, training and development of a small accounts team.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Be a key member of the team, supporting a varied client portfolio of corporates and not for profits (FRS 105,102,102a)

• Lead projects, including management and budget planning.

• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts.

• Preparation of income and expenditure accounts for clients as required.

• Bookkeeping and organisation of accounting records.

• Preparation and submission of VAT returns.

• Preparation and submission of personal and corporate tax returns.

• Provide excellent service to clients, being the go-to person for any queries.

• Proactively identify opportunities for clients and communicate actions clearly.

• Handle technical and challenging projects, working to accounting standards and considerations.

• Work closely with the senior management team, including supporting Partners with projects.

• Contribute to the firm’s growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with prospective clients.

• Coach a junior team, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Benefits

• £38,000 - £48,000 dependent on experience and background, negotiable.

You’ll be ACCA, ACA qualified or qualified by experience with at least five years of accountancy practice experience You’ll need excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly build relationships with clients -- always aiming to deliver excellent customer service. You’ll need to be technically strong with excellent attention to detail, have a can-do attitude to problem-solving.

Salary: £38,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
