You could help design 'the most advanced fighter jet ever'. Put your aerospace background to good use, as here you would design cutting-edge modifications for the next-gen fighter jets. Your knowledge of airworthiness will see you certifying designs as you go, ensuring compliance with CAA's Part 21, subparts J & G.

Role:
- Create and modify designs for aircraft, components and mission systems
- Certify your designs to meet airworthiness standards (CAA, Part 21J)
- Manage engineering projects from concept to completion; work with Production and Maintenance to achieve deliverables.
- If experienced, you may manage other design and certification engineers to ensure work meets schedule and cost targets.
- You may certify other work's airworthiness, e.g. when maintenance staff submit electrical load analyses, system safety and functional hazard assessments.
Design Experience (desirable):
- Specialist-knowledge of aircraft engineering, within mechanical/structural design or similar
- Engineer design work within complex aircraft projects
- Working to airworthiness regulations – civil or military (e.g. CAA, EASA, FAA, CS, FS or equivalent).
- Generating design 'data packages'
- Working on aircraft such as King Air, Piper PA-31, Boeing 727, 757 or similar.
Verification Experience (desirable):
- Airworthiness design standards - Part 21, subparts J &G; CS 23/25; CAA, EASA or FAA/equivalent
- Compile/check: Certification Programme, Compliance Checklist or other.
- Verifying structural substantiations, weight/balance reports, system safety / functional hazard assessments (or similar)
- Working in a Design Approved Organisation Scheme (DAOS) for MOD
- Quality-checking and/or auditing work against AS 9100 or ISO9001 standards
