Job Description


The Data Analyst, Customer Experience will contribute to the future of business intelligence at SSENSE by designing the next-generation data integration (ETL) processes connected to (and from) the vast array of spreadsheet tools used by various internal teams such as Personal Shopping, Retail, and Customer Care. Working collaboratively with the Data Platform team, this role will develop an optimal set of data flows, tools and other interfaces to facilitate the consumption of historical data, competitive data and forecasting models available to the business. The successful candidate is able to champion business intelligence best practices across departments, to derive valuable business insights from large and complex data structures, and to lead efficient change management activities with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Data Visualization, Analysis & Insights - 40%

  • Establish a deep understanding of the business, it’s data, and patterns to become a key thought partner to business units
  • Design and implement accessible, high-impact visualizations (e.g., Tableau dashboards) to monitor business results and/or answer priority business problems
  • Extract and analyze data from multiple sources (e.g., historical data, competitive data) to identify new business and/or optimization opportunities
  • Lead the sales commission process, ensuring process and tech foundations are in place to support scaling of our commission-based businesses
  • Socialize and transfer expertise to business leaders in Personal Shopping, Retail, and Customer Care by delivering data visualization and insights, as needed
  • Assess the competitive landscape and gather intelligence to drive insights for the Customer and Brand teams

Design & Development - 30%

  • Proactively recommend improvements to the tools and platforms in place, resulting in efficient decision making (e.g., commission tracking, clienteling, sales generation, etc.)
  • Scope new analytical and reporting requirements in partnership with stakeholders to develop prototypes and operationalize analytical tooling
  • Deliver and maintain a roadmap of all ongoing improvements to the data flows to identify and create business cases for changes in processes and tools and keep stakeholders informed
  • Contribute to the organizational business intelligence body of knowledge, including process diagrams and documentation, to ensure business continuity and scalability
  • Stay abreast of emerging tools and technologies to provide informed recommendations around industry best practices

Operations Support - 30%

  • Partner with business stakeholders on recurring analytical activities (e.g., client prospecting, tiering, etc) and maintaining support tools in Google Sheets, Python scripts, etc
  • Partner across the organization with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and business users, to support on maintaining the ETL processes, the tools and other business interfaces (e.g., dashboards)
  • Monitor data consistency and report on discrepancies as well as timely follow up
  • Implement continuous training for the Customer teams of Tableau and Google Sheets

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related analytical field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in analytics with a focus on driving business impact
  • Proficiency in querying and analyzing large data sets using SQL; JavaScript or Python/R knowledge is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of an ETL tool (Tableau Prep or SAS)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or QuickSight
  • Proficiency Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets and Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Strong communication skills and business acumen
