To work as an sonographer within Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, having completed the post graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound, becoming an autonomous practitioner contributing to the sonographer led service.
To undertake all of the required clinical caseload of the Trust other than the most complex interventions which are carried out by medical staff members. To be in a position to manage the patients pathway associated with their individual designated referrals, providing a comprehensive report of the findings (seeking appropriate advice if required) and ensuring it is communicated to appropriate clinicians.
Desirable qualities include independent scanning experience of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, GenMed and Musculoskeletal areas.
Please note: Depending on the position advertised, as part of pre employment checks you may be required to provide evidence of having received a complete course of an authorised Covid-19 vaccine. The Trust currently recognises vaccine certification from the UK, USA and all EU nations.

The post holder will take responsibility for image archiving and electronic data management generated during the procedure.

- To be progressing towards undertaking all of the required clinical caseload of the Trust other than the most complex interventions which are carried out by medical staff members.
- Independently manage the patient pathway associated with their individual designated. referrals, providing a comprehensive report of the findings (seeking appropriate advice if required) and ensuring it is communicated to appropriate clinicians.
- To take responsibility for image archiving and electronic data management generated during the procedure.
- To be able to effectively express, using both verbal and non-verbal communication skills, distressing and unexpected news directly to patients using empathy, respect and tact.
To be responsible for technical equipment QA and ensuring its safe operation for patient use.
