Our Admissions team perform a key role in recruiting high-quality students from around the globe to our international colleges throughout the UK. Every student that enters one of our programmes has to fulfil the entrance criteria and complete the many stages involved with obtaining their student visa. As a team, Admissions take responsibility for student throughout this process which typically takes several months from start to finish.


About the role:


We are now looking for an Admissions Officer, who will look after our students from the point that they accept our offer and pay their deposit through to arrival in the UK. Our students and their families are making a very significant investment when they enrol to study in the UK. Our goal is to provide the best follow-up and on-going support by phone or email, making sure our students successfully receive their visa and arrive in the UK for the start of their course. This will result in delighted customers who feel well cared for and supported before and as well as after arrival.


Your key day to day tasks will include but not limited to;


  • Checking students’ application documents and conducting student visa assessments
  • Following up by phone to guide students through the next steps
  • Counselling students though the visa process to ensure a successful visa outcome
  • Undertaking designated regional credibility and practice interviews
  • Chasing students’ visa outcome and arrival information
  • Liaising with the Accommodation and College teams for pre-arrival support
  • Providing ongoing communication and support to maintain a smooth student journey
  • Making sure all student records are up-to-date
  • Adhering to the Student visa policy and maintaining outstanding compliance
  • Ensuring visa refusal rates stay below 10% across all Kaplan International Pathway Colleges, through effective assessments and counselling


About you:


To perform the role to a high level, you will need;

  • Detailed understanding of both internal and external admissions policies and procedures
  • Willingness to work flexible hours where required (including some weekends during critical periods)
  • Multicultural outlook and interest in working with international students
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Competence with Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint


Previous experience in an admissions or student recruitment related role is highly desirable but not essential.
