Residential Supervisor (live in)
Location: Kings London Accommodation (Beckenham)
Reports to: Accommodation Manager
Work hours:
Mondays - 9AM - 11AM
Fridays - 3PM - 5PM (On call at Night)
Saturdays & Sundays - 9AM - 6PM (On call at Night)
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary Range: £10.000/11.000 plus free accommodation in Penge, one-bedroom house (Internet included, utility bills not included)
Role description
The Residential Supervisor role supports our Accommodation Department by safeguarding the welfare of resident students, helping the students to settle into their accommodation and to maintain the Kings London accommodations.
Kings London is a college for international students who wish to improve their English language skills and/or prepare for university study in the UK. Kings residences are located between Penge and Beckenham.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Create a safe and welcoming environment for students
· Maintain good order within the apartments
· Issue notices and instigate disciplinary procedures against students who break the rules
· Liaise with neighbours and students regarding complaints
· Patrol residence to ensure visitor curfew
· Handling complex accommodation queries and complaints from students
· Conduct monthly student room inspections and security checks
· Check students in and out of accommodation, including inductions
· Prepare “self check-in” for out of hours arrivals
· Liaise with other departments regarding accommodation issues and students concerns
· Liaise with Maintenance Team for maintenance issues
· Liaise with Housekeeping Supervisor for cleaning issues
· Tidy outdoor garden and car park if needed and carry out minor maintenance where needed
· Hold the emergency phone (every week from Friday 3pm to Monday 9am + 1 whole week per month)
· Report any welfare concerns to Welfare Officer and/or Accommodation Manager
· Reporting any security risks to Accommodation Manager as appropriate
· Regularly update students with new procedures implemented and/or communication from the college
· Keep accurate record of events
· Check student placements, moves, extensions, holidays and transfers, ensuring these are done in a timely manner
· Support the rest of the accommodation team in their areas when required occasionally.
· Maintain excellent communication with the accommodation manager and provide report/update when required
· Ensure that discretion and confidentiality are maintained within the department at all times.
· Undertake various admin and adhoc task
Occasionally staff will be required to work extra hours in order to complete workload during the high season.

Professional experience:
· Minimum 2 year Administrative experience
· Experience in using Microsoft Office systems such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Experience in using bespoke computer systems and databases
· Experience in hospitality and customer-based roles, facing clients and agents
Personal attributes:
· Ability to work well independently or with others, taking initiative where necessary
· Enthusiastic, organised and customer focused
· Highly responsible and approachable
· Able to work in a fast paced environment, and be able to work under pressure
· Able to liaise well with other departments, and excellent problem solving skills

Formal qualifications:
5 GCSEs grades A* - C or equivalent
Desirable attributes include:
· Experience with working within a school or college environment
· Knowledge of Ofsted and British Council compliance procedures
· Experience with working with international students
· Experience or knowledge of working within governmental procedures and policies
· Experience with accommodation or residential roles, including knowledge of local area and local government guidelines
· A good understanding of Data Protection
Successful appointment will be dependent upon:
· Enhanced DBS check (including photo ID check)
· Confirmation of right to work in the UK
· Satisfactory references (two references required – comments on suitability to work with under 18s will be sought)
