St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for a full-time, contingent position of Admission Fellow, starting approximately August 1, 2023 and continues until approximately June 30, 2024. Responsibilities include: front desk reception, counseling and interviewing prospective students; conducting information sessions about the College; supporting and attending on and off campus recruitment events such as open houses and Admitted Seahawk Days; responding to email and other inquiries and other duties to support the operations of the admission office and enrollment operations; attendance at open houses and other recruiting events. Requires overnight travel and some weekend work. This is a temporary contingent position that may be eligible for limited benefits.
Qualifications include, but are not limited to: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree; a valid driver’s license and eligible to drive leased automobiles; ability to lift at least 25 pounds; must be willing to work nights and weekends as required; a working knowledge of various computer software packages (word processing, spreadsheet applications, and data base management); must have strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills; must possess a commitment to the development of a diverse applicant pool and student body, and an appreciation of a liberal arts education in a small, residential college. Strong speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills are essential. The ability to interact with diverse groups of people and a good sense of humor are highly desirable. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
