Job description
We are recruiting for the Administrator of the Radcliffe Department of Medicine Strategic (RDMS) team, which provides professional services leadership and support for the Head of Department, academics and administrative teams across the five divisions comprising RDM. The post-holder will be a knowledgeable, efficient, and highly organised individual who will provide broad-ranging administrative support to RDMS.

As RDMS Administrator, you will make a positive impact on the successful performance of a large multi-disciplinary medical sciences department, which aims to tackle some of the world’s biggest health challenges by integrating innovative basic biology with cutting edge clinical research.
Reporting overall to the Head of Administration and Finance, you will in turn line manage the RDMS HR Officer and Administrative Assistant. Your work will cover HR, financial and research grants management and forecasting (reporting in this area primarily to the RDM Finance Manager), contributing to communications and equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and being RDMS’s first point of contact on ICT, governance, business continuity and facilities matters. You will help develop, disseminate, analyse and report on policies, procedures and activities affecting the work of the RDMS team and the Department as a whole.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have administrative experience across a varied range of areas, including finance and HR. Your strong organisational and problem-solving skills, allied to your ability to prioritise, will ensure your work is completed to deadlines. You will possess high-level interpersonal skills, expressed in excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people. You will be confident to use common office IT applications and complex enterprise-level software packages (after training). Experience of higher education administration would be an advantage.
This position is based on the John Radcliffe Hospital site and is offered at Grade 7 on a part-time basis (0.6-0.8 FTE). There will be the opportunity to discuss a combination of onsite/remote working as appropriate to the role.
