Fox Morris are working with London Borough of Merton Council in relations to finding a Administrator (Education Welfare) to start work ASAP!
Responsibilities
· To act as the first point of contact for telephone calls and e-mails to the service.
· Dealing with issues and giving advice on School Attendance, Child Protection, Child Employment, Children in Entertainment, Chaperones, Elective Home Education and legal matters.
· To be responsible for the administrative functions of the Education Welfare Service including individual pupil records, maintaining and developing the database system; recording incoming referrals, dealing with the post and e-mails.
· To be responsible for carrying out the checks required to enable the issue of Chaperone licenses, including obtaining references and to process the information required for DBS disclosure applications.
· To be responsible for checking all license applications meeting National and the Local Authorities guidance regarding health and safety, safeguarding of the child as well as any Government or public health requirements.
· To understand and apply the relevant legislation; The Children and Young Persons Act 1933, The Children and Young Persons Act 1963 and The Children(Performance) (England) Regulations 2014. Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003 and Education & Inspections Act 2006.
· To be responsible for the production and issuing of all licenses relating to Children in Entertainment, Child Employment and Chaperones adhering to the legislation and within timescales as well as ensuring accurate recording of licenses issued or declined.
· To use MOSAIC and other databases to record referrals and casework and to maximise their effectiveness in the team.
· To support the SEWO in the administration of the Penalty Notice system applying the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 and Education & Inspections Act 2006. To record PN warnings sent and use the E5 system to produce PN invoices and check for payments made.
· To service confidential meetings from setting up, collecting/ collating information, inviting attendees, minuting and distributing minutes.
· To provide administrative support to the Education Welfare Service Manager and the Senior Education Welfare Officer including carrying out confidential research for children missing from home and around domestic abuse for the MARAC both within tight timescales.
· To attend the Children Entertainment Network meetings as deputy for SEWO when necessary.
· To keep abreast of new developments around legislative changes and good practice within the agreed area of responsibility.
· To be responsible for ordering stationery supplies, checking timesheets, producing casework lists, booking meetings, recording all purchase invoices using the Council’s system and to raise purchase orders for the team. For maintaining databases to record the numbers of home visits undertaken, child in need and child protection meetings attended, penalty notice warning letters issued and penalty notice fines issued.
· To review and develop procedures to ensure the smooth administration of the service.
You will be required to work Monday-Friday (9:00-5:00pm). This is based on a 6 month contract and the pay negotiable.

Salary: £13.40-£16.00 per hour
