We are currently recruiting for an Administrator to join the Port Technology International team to support all areas of the business. We are looking for an enthusiastic, determined and ambitious individual capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, demonstrating attention for detail and delivering results
The Company
Port Technology International is a leading multi-channel media company delivering conferences in Europe and the United States, with an extended portfolio planned for 2023/2024. PTI also produces a technical journal published bi-monthly and a world-renowned website for news, technical content and sourcing suppliers.
The Port Technology journal is the only technical preview and review of advanced technologies for ports, harbours and terminals world-wide. Each edition features over 30 technical papers written by leading industry professionals, which reflect emerging trends and technical advances that enhance efficiency and increase productivity in ports and terminals.
The maritime industry sits at the centre of the global economy, and ports and terminals are vital to ensuring the safe passage of goods across the supply chain. Massive technological changes mean now is a great time to enter the industry, with the biggest ports, terminal operators, carriers and logistics firms investing heavily to connect cities, countries and regions through the power of trade.
The Role
Working closely with the Operations Director, this is a new role providing a great opportunity to experience all aspects of the business, develop your skills and really make the role your own. No day will be the same and you will assist in all areas of the business including operations, marketing and client management. The candidate must have the ability to work autonomously and be organised yet remain flexible to the different demands of the business.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Undertaking operations tasks during events such as venue sourcing, third party supplier management, event app creation, registration and providing required information to sponsors, speakers and attendees.
- Managing VIP invitations and networking
- Assisting the marketing team when required with social media, email marketing and creation of marketing material.
- Working with the web development team to maintain and develop PTI’s event websites and it’s main website.
- Assisting in the development of our social media presence and brand awareness
- Creating monthly and quarterly performance reports for key clients and ensuring all deliverables are completed under client contracts
- Assisting with the generation and allocation of inbound leads for the Sales Team
- Online business journal subscription management
- General administration and research
- Other ad hoc admin tasks as requested
The successful applicant will have:
- A degree or equivalent education, or relevant work experience. A degree in marketing or administration preferable.
- A desire to work in media and B2B conferences
- Positive work ethic, can-do attitude, and plenty of initiative and willingness to learn
- Enthusiasm for working in a busy commercial environment and a willingness to learn
- High standard of literacy, excellent attention to detail and excellent telephone manner
- Proven ability to work well in a team but also proactive and willing to take on increasing responsibilities
- Superb Microsoft office skills expected

Salary: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
