The Line 2 Fraud Oversight (L2FO) function should provide challenge and support as appropriate to help ensure that Santander UK’s Fraud Centre of Excellence is as efficient and effective as possible and compliant with prevailing regulation and legislation. L2FO is currently undergoing it’s own transformation with a new target operating model, which includes the growth and strengthening of a Fraud Assurance team. The role holder will be part of a growing team within L2FO, who report into the Director of Economic Crime Risk (MLRO), in L2 Economic Crime.
You will provide primary oversight of the Line 1 Fraud Assurance Framework and, at the direction of the Senior Management of L2FO, delivering Fraud Risk Assurance reviews. You will also engage with other Line 2 Assurance Functions as necessary.
The difference you’ll make.
- Assessing the outputs (including MI) of the Line 1 Assurance Framework
- Ensuring the Line 1 Assurance Framework is managed in accordance with agreed timescales and, if not, ensuring suitable escalation is conducted.
- Carrying out targeted assurance reviews of specific Fraud Risks which may be reactive or proactive.
- Assisting in the creation of governance processes and template documents for L2 Fraud Assurance.
- Reporting findings and escalating concerns within L2FO as well as to relevant Senior Management and Forums.
- Liaising with Line 2 Assurance Functions (e.g. Financial Crime and Compliance Monitoring) to provide SME Fraud input as well as ensuring appropriate coverage across the RFB.
What you’ll bring.
- A track record of delivering assurance reviews in a financial services context as well as managing your own workload.
- Technical expertise relating to Fraud Risk.
It would also be nice for you to have.
- Proven experience in Assurance
- Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent analytical, interpretation, influencing and communication skills; with an ability to communicate and network effectively to influence management and external parties
- Understanding the 3 Lines of Defence model of risk management.
