Main Areas of responsibility
Supporter care
- Build up good knowledge of our fundraising systems and supporters and provide timely primary acknowledgement and thank you letters to donors
- Ensure donor acknowledgement system is up to date
- Be the first point of contact to respond to calls, orders for greetings cards, emails and letters from donors
- Have good knowledge of donation mechanisms - direct debit, standing orders, CAF, Stewardship, Gift Aid, etc.
Database
- Help maintain and populate CRM module to build up comprehensive profile of our donors
- Provide donation reports and information for the head of fundraising and fundraising officers using the donor CRM
- Provide reports to help build up donor profile and understanding for individuals and types of donor as well as ad hoc report
Direct mail programme
- Report on responses
- Oversee and ensure accurate and timely print and productions of in-house mailings
Trust fundraising
- Research grant-making trusts and foundations using databases and the internet to assist the fundraising officers
- Maintain a record of programme and project updates to assist with the writing of reports to trusts
- Print, collate and post documentation to trusts
Other
- Research - ad hoc areas using VISMA (our internal database), online databases, internet
- Best practice - build up understanding of fundraising knowledge and processes and use as appropriate at BRF
- Events - manage the administration of fundraising events as required
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Excellent administrative skills, including proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Conscientious with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills: ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Enthusiastic team player
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with people at all levels, ages and of varying backgrounds
- Flexible and resourceful; able to respond well to change
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
- Strong commitment to the aims of the organisation
Desirable
- Experience in a fundraising, retail or communications role
- CRM database skills
