We are seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Administrative Officer to work within the Education Group, Flexible & Online Learning Division as part of the Work-Based & Professional Learning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team working to establish alternative pathways into Higher Education across the University. Reporting directly to the Head of Work-Based & Professional Learning, the successful applicant will undertake a varied role including:
- Providing advice & guidance on matters relating to Degree Apprenticeships and Work-Based Learning to internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate Degree Apprenticeships marketing activities in conjunction with the University Marketing and Communications team
- Servicing meetings and committees
- Organising events for internal and external stakeholders including staff, employers and apprentices
- Promoting apprenticeships in networking events, training sessions, employer activities, open days and promotional activities for schools and colleges

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide administrative support to the Head of Work-Based & Professional Learning across the range of their responsibilities. To support policy and procedural development in relation to group operations in the Work-Based & Professional Learning Group.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide advice, information and respond to queries from a broad range of internal and external contacts on a wide array of University policies and procedures relating to Degree Apprenticeships and work-based learning activities.
Servicing of meetings and committees including development of agendas, writing papers, producing minutes and taking forward points for action.
Drafting of reports for committees or Senior Managers following desk-based research and provide advice to the Senior Management on these.
Managing ad hoc projects including initiating and planning project work, influencing policy development and implementing project outcomes.
To manage or facilitate key events, e.g. national networking events; training sessions; employer engagement events; schools visits; University Open Day activities.
Developing and maintaining on-line and off-line marketing materials, to include writing and/or designing original content for webpages, social media and brochures.
Reviewing, developing and documenting systems and procedures, to ensure business improvements and enhanced customer service.
Production and analysis of management information and budget reports.
Contribute to the long-term development of the University’s Degree Apprenticeship and work-based learning strategy.
