THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Education Administration Manager directs the fiscal work of the Bureau of Special Education to ensure proper appropriation and monitoring of federal and state special education funding for local education agencies (LEAs) in Pennsylvania. This positon manages the following: the statewide electronic grant system; the data collection process and procedures for maintenance of effort (MOE) and the collection and analysis of all data relevant to the evaluation of program and budget effectiveness. Duties include the development and supervision of departmental internal controls for state and federal grant procedures and the supervision, communication and dissemination of information of state and federal grant contract regulations and timelines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, in office (1) day a week - Tuesdays. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of experience as an Education Administration Supervisor; or
  • Six years of professional experience in education including at least four years in educational administrative; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
