Full-time Contract: 35 hours per week (part-time 28 hours per week would be considered for successful candidate)
Open Ended Contract: Permanent
The Opportunity:
The Usher Institute within The University of Edinburgh is looking for an enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to provide excellent day-to-day administrative support within our busy HR and Governance team.
The successful candidate will work within the small HR Governance team to assist in all aspects of local recruitment and on-boarding processes, including answering queries in our busy shared inbox. You will provide ongoing ‘Local Guide’ assistance to Usher staff using our People and Money system.
This post will be based in the office at Teviot Place (Central Campus) initially. Note that all Usher Institute staff will move to a new building at Edinburgh Bioquarter, Little France from early 2024.
- Good standard of general education, including SVQ level 3 in Business and Administration.
- Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
- Ability to exercise discretion, respect and confidentiality.
- Ability to organise time effectively, prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Flexible approach, excellent team player, ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in handling confidential information.
