Your new role
We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the Southend Equipment & Adaptation Service team on a full time and permanent basis. As an Administrative Assistant you will assist in the efficient application of budgetary control systems through accurate processing of purchase orders onto spreadsheets and passing invoices for payment. You will maintain and keep up to date all records ensuring their security, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other confidentiality / security good practice guidance.
You will represent the department’s front-line contact, deal with enquiries efficiently or refer them to the appropriate source of information, in line with business support protocols. You will provide administrative support and undertake general administrative duties as required using various computer systems / IT packages. You will utilise computer systems/IT packages for appropriate record keeping/maintenance or data collation.
This role will be 100% office based.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to have attention to detail and good organisational and interpersonal skills. You must be able to work on your own initiative, be proficient in diary management and be confident using a variety of Microsoft packages. You need to be able to communicate effectively across all levels and be able to work to deadlines, establish good relationships with clients and stakeholders and be responsible for accurate and timely data input and tracking.
You must enjoy working as part of a team and possess a positive and flexible ‘can-do’ approach to your work/duties. You should be able to work with a high degree of accuracy, flexibility and be able to manage your workload to achieve agreed targets. Previous experience of working in a fast-paced team and ability to handle a multitude of tasks would be advantageous.
