POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as the receptionist/first line of defense for the practice/clinic. Schedules patient visits. Performs the registration process for patients visits, to include gathering demographic and third-party payment information, recording charges, collecting patient payments, assisting with appointments for medical imaging, scheduling any necessary follow-up appointments, handling patient inquiries by phone and in person, processing all incoming faxes and medical record requests and daily balancing and submission of all receipts.
EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required: Working knowledge of medical terminology. Proficient in the use of keyboard and basic computer application skills. Ability to
become proficient in the use of software applications specific to registration and physician practice operations, within 3 months of hire. Customer
service skills gained through previous work experience.
Preferred: Associate Degree in Medical Office Administration or related field. Completion of formal education/training program for Medical Office
Assistants, with similar experience in a physician practice or clinic setting and knowledge/experience working with Epic.
