Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the outdoor education department of Pate’s Grammar School.
Contracted working hours will be 22.1/2 hrs per week all year round, working days to be Monday to Wednesday
You would be expected to cover 3 Climbing Clubs (3pm-6pm) per week ( This can be included in Your Hours or added as additional )
The successful candidate will start on a probationary period of 6 months minimum, which will be reviewed.
Applicants should be computer literate and have experience in stores management.

Mountain Leader - WML /SML
DofE Supervisors /Assessor
CWI/CWDI/RCI/Foundation Coach/Development Coach
RSA Levels 1 and 2
First Aid at Work – First Aid Trainer
BCU Canoe Instructor Level 2
Minibus Driving Licence
Bush craft Instructor

Job Responsibilities:
1. OED Stores Management
Responsible for the organisation of OED stores:
Keeping all of the stores in a clean and orderly manner.
Keep up to date records of all equipment, including service records.
Servicing and repairs of all equipment.
Maintaining a log of all equipment loaned out to Students.
Ensuring that all staff who wish to borrow equipment from stores have the approval of the OED Manager and maintaining records of equipment loaned out.
Recovering costs of lost or damaged equipment
2. Climbing Wall
Responsible for ensuring that the equipment for the climbing wall is current and in good working condition including weekly and monthly health and safety checks
Responsible for running the NICAS Award on behalf of the School on the role of Course Director
Responsible for keeping clear and up to date student NICAS Award records.
Ensuring that all staff employed for climbing have relevant qualifications and are familiar with the operating procedures of the wall.
Lease with Head of OED on Booking of staff for after School Club’s and events within school
Running the climbing club three nights a week as well as organising external trips and events.
3. Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Responsible for creation of participant’s edofe accounts, the issuing of their logbooks and keeping a full record of books issued.
Updating the edofe system with all expedition training on the participant’s account.
Preparing of group equipment for upcoming events.
Responsible for the expedition paperwork for DofE events.
Responsible for monitoring of edofe – approving/referring sections as appropriate.
Responsible for the timely completion of assessor’s reports for your events.
Responsible for attending the presentations of your groups where possible.
4. OED General
Assist with bush craft or other TPM Activities as directed.
Attend Year 8 Camp
Ensuring all records above are stored in the OED folder on the S Drive.
5. Minibuses management weekly

MOT/Servicing up to date
6. Responsible for any other duties that the Line Manager feels necessary to the function of the Outdoor Education Department or School
Salary:
Full time pay for point 7 is £22,369 to point 11 £24,054
22.5 hours per week is a part time percentage of 22.5/37 = 60.81%
Actual pay would therefore be in the range £13,603 to £14,627
