The Panel’s job is to ensure that the sector works for consumers, citizens and micro businesses - and in particular people who may be in a more vulnerable position in society. The Panel uses evidence and insights to promote the interests of consumers and inform Ofcom, government departments, industry and others. The Panel consists of a Chair and up to twelve Members.
The Panel’s current team consists of an Executive Director, a Manager and a Coordinator who work closely to help the Panel deliver its plans. The Administrator is a new role created to support the team.

This role will require you to work closely with other executive team members and at times the Panel Chair and Panel Members, as well as Ofcom colleagues and stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and project management support to the Panel’s executive team, including developing and maintaining internal project plans.
- Lead on diary management for the Panel and team where needed, particularly the Panel’s Chair.
- Be a point of contact for stakeholder queries, drafting an initial response with support from the team, escalating queries where relevant.
- Assist with management of the Panel’s website.
- Assist in the effective functioning of a range of the Panel’s operations, including the organisation of events and follow-up of actions.
- Help to plan and deliver the Panel’s research and insight programme, as requested.
- An understanding of how to keep the team’s outputs running efficiently in terms of balancing time quality of outputs and the varied needs of the Panel, team members and stakeholders.
- Great attention to detail and pride in your work to ensure delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Clear, friendly and accurate communication skills.
- Proactive, with a flexible, trustworthy, team-focused approach to tasks.
- Positive mindset – willing to continuously learn and develop and to share knowledge with the team.
- Ability to develop an understanding of the Panel’s regulatory remit.
- Ability to communicate openly with colleagues, raising concerns and seeking help from other members of the Panel’s team where needed.
