Vascular services has a wonderful opportunity for a Medical Typist to join their friendly team to provide a high quality clinical typing service to a team of Consultants supporting the Divisional Patient Pathway Coordinators.
You will be responsible for typing clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence in line with the Trust’s contractual key performance indicators (KPIs).
You will be expected to follow standard operating procedures, which describe how the functions of the role will be carried out along with given timescales and key performance indicators that will be adhered to and work as part of a team providing cover for colleagues during sickness and annual leave where appropriate. This may include providing typing support in other departments.
You will need fast and accurate audio typing skills and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.
Your role will involve audio typing of clinical letters, operation notes and discharge summaries as directed by the Patient Pathway Coordinator to meet divisional specific KPI in relation to turnaround targets ensuring a high standard of accuracy and quality.
You will ensuring that all correspondences are dispatched promptly to patients, GP’s and other health care provider’s as required within agreed timeframes and to ensure all letters and correspondences received for typing are prioritised in an accurate and efficient manner for example in date or urgency order.
